  • My name is Carrie I’m 39, I have two kids, I work full time at Met Hospital I’ve been there for 15 years, it’s a very stressful job I was in the ICU for years and just recently moved to a medical floor. Where do I begin? Face the hard and ugly truth I guess. I honestly feel that sharing my story is the most difficult part, because it’s letting all of you know my struggles and fears. I’ve always been very active, athletic and brought up to be tough and rely on no one but myself. We never showed defeat, we always were taught to be the best you can be, try your best and never walk away from a challenge. Then as we all like to blame life, I started to let the strong me slip away. I was in a car accident where a drunk driver T-boned me and I was 23 weeks pregnant with my second daughter. Thankfully we were both ok, besides the bumps and bruises, and I have two bulging discs in my neck and two in my lower back. I worked through the pain throughout my pregnancy, went through a lot of chiro and physio 5- 7 days a week. As they say life took over and I always put everyone else before my own needs. Before I knew it Carrie was gone, the fun, crazy, wild outgoing girl I always was, became non-existent. I was finally able to get my shit together, and started a journey, then of course, a work-related injury disabled me again and my previous injuries came back with vengeance. I did everything I was told to do by the doctors because the last thing I wanted in my 30’s was to go through neck and back surgery, and face the uncertainties of paralysis and or death. I continued to put everyone else’s needs above my own, working 3 jobs, taking care of two kids and my parents, running constantly then one day it dawned on me, where is my life going? I had bent over to tie my shoes and I was like OMG, this is hard..... I stepped on the scale and was completely and utterly disgusted with myself. I cried as I stood there on the scale. I opened my FB app on my phone and there was a post made by a friend and I thought she needed an accountability partner, so I offered to be that for her, then I got a message from Kathy.... I had no idea my friend was a part of this challenge. I tried to talk myself out of it, with the number one reason for not doing it was the entrance fee. I really didn’t have the money to join, but I spoke with my husband and he said why waste your time, you’re not going to stick with it anyways, your too busy. I was like WTF!!! That motivated me even more! So I sold a few things online and sent my payment into Kathy. That was the push I needed to take back ownership of me!!! Obesity runs on one side of my family and I didn’t want that path for myself. I want to enjoy life and activities with my kids, I knew things had to change and this was my starting point. My adult life, looking back at pictures, I was always the one taking them, I always hid behind the camera instead of being in front of it, and it’s really robbed me and my family from those memories. Being scared of being judged by old friends online, I didn’t want to see myself because I didn’t see me, I saw a girl who lost herself and let herself go. This is what has kept me motivated throughout the last 6 months. That and no support from my husband. I want to be an active staple for my kids and family. I’m not going to lie, this challenge was not easy! There were a lot of days I wanted to throw in the towel and call it quits, but I’m not taking the easy way out... .Did I have setbacks of course I did, many of them but instead of making Excuses to bail, I found ways to continue and thrive despite injuries and set backs. I remembered the Reasons why I said yes to this in the beginning. I wanted my life back, I’m important too!! I tried my best at following the meal plan, but to be honest it was really hard and I was very honest with Andrew, and right away he wanted to help me make things easier! With my busy crazy lifestyle I was not able to spend hours prepping and making recipes etc, he totally understood and we made it nice and simple. For that I’m very thankful! At one point in my journey a few months ago I had a breakthrough I came home from work and my youngest daughter ran up to me as always to give me a hug and she yelled... “ Holly Momma my arms wrap all around you now, I could never reach my hands before. This brought me to tears right away!! One because an 8 year old kid could make that relation, I was sad but then really happy to because that was my realization that this is working for me!! This was my progress reassurance. They always say never measure your success by numbers on a scale.... Her Arms Wrapped Fully Around me, that was MY MOMENT!! I dug deep that day and I knew I was doing the right thing! We laughed, we cried. I could go on and on, but really we are all winners, we all have our stories, we have our successes and we have our defeats, but guess what we all did it, and we all completed the challenge and for that we are All Winners!!! If it wasn’t for the constant support from this group, I’m sure it would have been easy to walk away. So thank you! I’ve made some amazing friendships through this journey, and I’m so thankful for all of you!! You have helped SAVE ME! For that I will forever be grateful! Kathy and Andrew thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your help, and encouragement through the last 6 months, you are my hero’s! My journey does not end here, I still have a long way to go, but go dog go! I’m not going back only chin up and head forward from here on out! Thank you Everyone!! xoxo

  • I have always ate pretty good most days but I was looking for something to give me more energy and better results in the gym. So I decided to give this a shot. I never thought that my body could change so much in one month the results were amazing!!!! I just finished phase 3 of my meal plan and it was fantastic! it was VERY VERY easy from start to finish! The grocery list they provided was spot on and made it very QUICK and EASY while food shopping! also they gave great suggestions and substitutions that provided easy swaps for when they were needed! I also LOVED the print out of the week... Its so easy to follow. It was also always great knowing you were just an email away when I had questions! This is a great guide to help you make better changes long term and to give you a better understanding of what you need to fuel your body no matter what result your going for and not to mention the food is great!!!

  • Before I started the Complete 180 program, I was so unhappy with not only my appearance, but also how I felt healthwise. I sat most of my days, felt exhausted constantly, and ate out often 3 times a day. I knew I needed to change my lifestyle, not just for myself but for my family. I had heard a friend mention the program and saw posts about it so I made that first step to message Kathy for more information. The call had me motivated and excited so I signed up. To be perfectly honest, when I first received my meal plan, I cried. I felt defeated and like there was just no way I could change so much of my lifestyle. A quick chat with Kathy had me realizing it wasn't about having to make drastic changes all at once, but that making small changes over time was what would make the biggest difference for me. Six months later and I've lost 25 lbs and am down 26.75 inches. But more importantly I FEEL better. My family is active now. We go for daily walks, and run around at the beach or in the backyard, or jump at Skyzone. We're having fun together and enjoying the activity. I had never been a person that worked out. I'm extremely proud that I've made that commitment to move my body regularly now. It really has made such a difference. And my parents and husband have always teased me because I NEVER cooked. I was too content eating out and never made an effort to cook. Now, I've learned to make lots of healthy meals and that's a huge accomplishment for me and a wonderful benefit for our family. My goal going forward is to keep working towards losing another 20 lbs which would put me at a healthier weight. I want to keep aiming towards working out most days. I want to keep reminding myself that as much as certain foods can be enjoyed during social gatherings, it's purpose is to fuel my body so I need to give it what it needs. It wasn't an easy journey but it was worth it 100%. Some days weren't as committed as others but I learned to stop beating myself up about it and just get back on track today, not tomorrow or next week or next month. I feel so much excitement to see where I will be in 6 months from now, and a year from now, but I finally am confident that I'll be living a healthy, purposeful, and active lifestyle. Thanks so much for the motivation and encouraging over these past 6 months!! Cheers to bettering ourselves!

  • My journey to a healthier lifestyle started in November 2020. I was feeling tired, inactive, bloated and overall felt there was room for improvement in my health. I started being more conscious of what I was putting in my body and making an effort to move more primarily through walking to and from work. I started losing weight and realized that I didn’t want to just “be skinny”, I wanted to be healthy and strong. I found it impossible to find the motivation to work out on my own and stumbled along for a couple of months… AND THEN, I talked to Kathy about the challenge. I remember after a very short phone conversation with her I said, “at this point I see no reason why I wouldn’t go for it.” And that was it. I was immediately in it to win it. When starting the challenge my goals were to get stronger, improve body composition, nail down good habits as a part of a healthy lifestyle and to work really hard and get into the top 10 of the challenge. I have achieved every one of those goals although the third is an on going goal that I have to constantly work at. I’ve set many other mini goals for the weeks or months on my monthly calendars where I record of all my workouts, cheat meals, achievements and anything else I feel is worth taking note of. I learnt how to prep and carve out time while at work to get my snacks and water intake in. This was not easy given the demanding nature of my position as a Dental Assistant. For me, making the time to eat every snack, every meal and keep up my water intake was one of my proudest accomplishments as it was among the most difficult. Along my journey I have inspired others. I’ve had several referrals based on my results and enthusiasm for the program. I’ve had people I barely know reach out to me asking me for information on what I’ve been doing and telling me that I’ve inspired them. This in turn fueled my motivation. When I was feeling weak or struggling I would look at our amazing 180 group and find inspiration to help me through those times. My main struggle has been with my nutrition and as the challenge went on it got easier and easier to go off the rails. I always came back to my nutrition plan with gentle forgiveness for myself. I’m going to be joining the next challenge to help myself achieve my more long term goals. I have worked my butt off and continue to do so. In total I have lost 18.6 lbs and a total of 21 inches all over. I’d be honoured by your votes, win or lose. We have all come so far together. Thank you so much to the entire group and a huge thank your to Kathy and Andrew for helping me achieve my Complete 180.
